Hey Guys!

Long time no post!

It really has been a while since I’ve last posted. Well, lately, a virus has been infecting my computer and I have been avoiding my laptop since. Now that I’ve gotten rid of it, thanks to various antiviruses and uninstallers, I can write my post with ease.

Anyways, getting back with the tag. I have been tagged by the lovely Lala @LaLa’s Blog sometime this month and I have been itching to do this tag since.

It has always been one of my dreams to visit some of the countries in the northern and southern hemisphere to experience the changing of the seasons. Sad to say, we, here in our country only have the sun and the rain and the occasional hailstorms all year long.

So without further chit chat, here are my picks to this tag’s questions.

ARC Review: Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn

book review 1

Seventeen-year-old Mercedes Ayres has an open-door policy when it comes to her bedroom, but only if the guy fulfills a specific criteria: he has to be a virgin. Mercedes lets the boys get their awkward, fumbling first times over with, and all she asks in return is that they give their girlfriends the perfect first time- the kind Mercedes never had herself.

Keeping what goes on in her bedroom a secret has been easy- so far. Her absentee mother isn’t home nearly enough to know about Mercedes’ extracurricular activities, and her uber-religious best friend, Angela, won’t even say the word “sex” until she gets married. But Mercedes doesn’t bank on Angela’s boyfriend finding out about her services and wanting a turn- or on Zach, who likes her for who she is instead of what she can do in bed.

When Mercedes’ perfect system falls apart, she has to find a way to salvage her reputation and figure out where her heart really belongs in the process. Funny, smart, and true-to-life, FIRSTS is a one-of-a-kind young adult novel about growing up.

I have received an advance readers copy of this novel from Netgalley for an honest review.

For Mercedes Ayres, the secret of helping the virgins of Milton High in her bedroom is one thing she does for a cause. Well, that is, for them to give their girlfriends an unforgettable first.

But what if one day, the guy, she least expected to seek her services from, suddenly appears in front of her, threatening her to reveal the secret she has carefully protected, that is, if she doesn’t give him what he wants?

Book Review

  • I like the way it is written. It is witty and sensible. Despite the explicit theme of the book, the readers wouldn’t feel disgusted even after reading the whole thing. One of the reasons why I really enjoyed reading it.

Book Review: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

book review 1

This is a world divided by blood – red or silver.

The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.

That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.

Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.

But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart…

In the world where Mare Barrow lives, everyone is separated by the color of their blood.

The Silvers. They are the ones who bleed blood like molten steel, the ones who possesses powers like gods and the ones who think they are superior than the reds.

The Reds, the ones whose crimson blood bleeds for those who are Silvers. The ones whose freedom are taken away from birth. The reds, rising like the dawn.

But what happens when a Red possesses an ability that is equal to the Silvers? Will this mutation set the world in motion?

Book Review

  • Everything in the story has never been predictable. From beginning till the end, this book is a total page turner. Every twist leads to the next making every reader wanting for more.

Trick or Treat Book Tag

Hey Guys!

Happy Hallows Eve!

How are you there? Bet you’re wearing that cute costume you bought the other day somewhere. Or maybe, you’re just sitting there, watching the television, listening to traffic advisories for those who are planning to visit their dead loved ones at the cemetery. Well, I am doing the second one. Traffic here is very unbearable even in normal days and wearing Halloween costumes makes people think you are crazy. So, I prefer to stay at home and feel the comfort of my bed. (smiles)

Anyways, this tag is created by Alyssa @ Under Review and here are my picks:
