ARC Review: Follow Me Back by A.V. Geiger

Tessa Hart’s world feels very small. Confined to her bedroom with agoraphobia, her one escape is the online fandom for pop sensation Eric Thorn. When he tweets to his fans, it’s like his speaking directly to her…

Eric Thorn is frightened by his obsessive fans. They take their devotion way too far. It doesn’t help that his PR team keeps posting to encourage their fantasies.

When a fellow pop star is murdered at the hands of a fan, Eric knows he has to do something to shatter his online image fast—like take down one of his top Twitter followers. But Eric’s plan to troll @TessaHeartsEric unexpectedly evolves into an online relationship deeper than either could have imagined. And when the two arrange to meet IRL, what should have made for the world’s best episode of Catfish takes a deadly turn…

Told through tweets, direct messages, and police transcripts.

arrowsI have received an advance readers copy of this novel from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.

Agoraphobia. Tessa has been confined in her room ever since summer of 2016 and her obsession with Eric Thorn is the only way she could vent her self out.

Fear. Ever since his co-star, Dorian, was murdered by a super obsessive fan, Eric has been frightened that something similar might happen to him.

By creating an anonymous twitter account, Eric found himself falling for the girl whom he never thought would change his life forever.

  • It is not petty for a celebrity story. Given that this is a suspense psychological thriller, Follow Me Back surprisingly captures both the swoony side of a fan-celebrity relationship and the dread of having someone obsess about the main character. The story is never shallowly addressed. I even find the theme fully utilized up until the end.

  • Every conversation in the book utterly makes sense. It is not similar to those YA chick flicks I have read wherein the main characters cuss and curse and even have sex on the very first day they met. The interaction between the main leads may be small but it surely shows that something intimate is really going on between the two.
  • The story will keep you guessing up until the shocking end. From first page to last, this novel has given me one hell of a roller coaster ride. It is never predictable and each chapter is different from the next making you curious up until the bitter end. So if you are looking for something very thrilling to read, this is the perfect book for you.

If you haven’t read Follow Me Back, better leave this segment alone.

  • The ending. How am I supposed to react? I mean, how can a chapter ruin that happy ending for the two of them?! It is so mind wracking that I even have trouble sleeping that night I finished the novel.

arrowsThank you so much for visiting my blog today. I hope you’ll enjoy this novel as much as I did. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a very thrilling roller coaster ride. I know, this will blow your minds off. (Smiles)

Till my next review guys!
