ARC Review: Death and Night by Roshani Chokshi

Before The Star-Touched Queen there was only Death and Night.

He was Lord of Death, cursed never to love. She was Night incarnate, destined to stay alone. After a chance meeting, they wonder if, perhaps, they could be meant for more. But danger crouches in their paths, and the choices they make will set them on a journey that will span lifetimes.

★★★★★(5 stars)

I have received an advance readers copy of this novel from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.

Dharma Raja is in need of a queen. But with a curse imposed by The Shadow Wife, he is bound to never fall in love.

In his pursuit to find his queen, will his promises of the world be enough to make her choose him?

  • It is a story that can stand on its own. Most of the novellas I have read has its foundation built on the series they belong. In this case, since Death and Night is the prologue of the whole series, it can can be understood without the help of the others.

  • Amar, again! How sweet can the Lord of Death be! From being the most naive suitor to being the expert in flattery, Dharma Raja sure learns fast in finding his way through every girl’s heart.
  • The Star Touched Queen explained. There are so many things that are quite half baked in the first book that is further explained in this novella. Like Amar’s behavior towards Maya and his despiration to bring her back. Why his guard was up during the day they met and many more.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed reading.

Till my next review!
