Reena Montero has loved Sawyer LeGrande for as long as she can remember: as natural as breathing, as endless as time. But he’s never seemed to notice that Reena even exists until one day, impossibly, he does. Reena and Sawyer fall in messy, complicated love. But then Sawyer disappears from their humid Florida town without a word, leaving a devastated—and pregnant—Reena behind.
Almost three years have passed, and there’s a new love in Reena’s life: her daughter, Hannah. Reena’s gotten used to being without Sawyer, and she’s finally getting the hang of this strange, unexpected life. But just as swiftly and suddenly as he disappeared, Sawyer turns up again. Reena doesn’t want anything to do with him, though she’d be lying if she said Sawyer’s being back wasn’t stirring something in her. After everything that’s happened, can Reena really let herself love Sawyer LeGrande again?
In this breathtaking debut, Katie Cotugno weaves together the story of one couple falling in love—twice.
Reena has one beautifully planed future ahead of her and she is about to mess things up by falling so deeply in love with Sawyer, the guy who made her pregnant then left.
Now, three years has passed and Reena is getting used to bringing up Hanna alone. But what if one day, on a rainy afternoon, she finds Sawyer LeGrande, her long lost lover, somewhere when she least expected it? Will she be able to give him a second chance?
- The story capsulizes every emotion there is. Even though this story is quite a cliché, it still captivates the reader’s emotions and make them believe that second chances are not as impossible as it seems.
- It has a cute cover. Really! Who wouldn’t resist buying a book with a cute cover?
- The book is written in Before, After format. Well, to be honest with you, I quit reading the book the first time I got hold of it simply because it is written in Before, After format. Who wouldn’t be surprised to read an “After” before reading what really happened “Before”? So I ditched it. But I decided to finish it months later when a friend told me it was good. (smiles)
All in all, this book is not as bad as I have expected it to be. It may contain a couple of flaws but that doesn’t mean it is not worth the read. So, I recommend this to everyone and please tell me what you think. (smiles)
Until my next book review!
